How To Clean A Washing Machine With Vinegar And Bleach!

I’m going to show you ten steps on how to clean your washing machine if you are the sort of person that has mold or mildew in your washing machine. Step 1 – Clean with Citric Acid and Bicarb soda

Step number one is to clean your washing machine inside. Some washing machines have settings for that. Like there’s wash table clean mode all that sorts of functions and all.

But don’t waste your money on washing machine cleaning products instead of putting in citric acid and bicarb soda. So a hundred grams of citric acid where 200 grams of bicarb soda or just a hundred grams of citric acid on its own.

You can buy both products practically anywhere. You can pick up, and bio-cop soda is sodium bicarbonate, which is always in the baking aisle and gives your washing machine a good clean.

If you don’t have their settings, then do it at your highest temperature and higher spin and watch your washing machine get all the gunk and dirt out. It is insane how dirty your washing machine is if it’s the first time you’re going to do it.

Step – 2 Clean washing machine with vinegar

Step number 2 is to stop using a fabric conditioner in your washing machine because all it does is creates a waxy residue which makes it harder to clean, and also that results in a smelly washing machine which is what you don’t want.

So instead of using fabric softener the best alternative and more natural alternative is vinegar, this is something that is in all the supermarkets. So make sure you get white vinegar because it is fantastic, it is a fraction of the cost of fabric softener.

It does precisely the same thing, there is a sweet smell that you won’t smell. The smell in your washing machine is anything like that and it is perfect. If your towels have that smelly moldy mildew smell, this will eliminate it, and you will still get a fluffy towel.

 Step 3 – Open the door after washing

My third step is after you’ve done a load is to open the door immediately. I  know it’s difficult for mums to get the pack out straight away, but if you can open the door, straighten it and get some airing to let it dry out the moisture. That would be brilliant, and it would reduce the chances of mold and mildew brewing in humidity.

Step -4 Pull Tray out

The 4th is to open the detergent tray as well, and you can either take it out and put it on top early to dry overnight or leave it open.

When you take your tray out, you see this mold every two weeks. Get a toothbrush to get your washing up liquid and give the whole dish a good scrub down with the toothbrush and get all the mold and all the black bits out and then let the air dry.

Before ultimately, before you put it back into the tray while you’re cleaning it and letting it dry clean. The inside of the slot where the plate goes in because it would be filthy and covered in black mold as well, so after you take it lined out and you’re leaving it to air dry, it’s important to keep the rubber lining dry.

Step -5 Scrub rubber lining with vinegar and bleach

So most of the mold and mildew would accumulate and if you pull back the rubber lining and you see this mold in there. Then get your vinegar and give it a good old scrub if the vinegar is not working then put some bleach in there and scrub it. But if you are trying to make it more natural and find an alternative then soak your clothes in vinegar and leave it in the lining for  15-20 minutes. Then give it another good scrub it should get them or doubt if that doesn’t work then do the same process with bleach.

Step -6 Dry out rubber lining

If you continuously afterload, always dry out the rubber lining that will help to minimize the amount and mildew in your washing machine. One of the main reasons why  I didn’t get moldy mold in the rubber lining of my washing machine is because  I use white vinegar and bicarb soda in my bushes.  And I do that maybe two or three times a week, so that helps eliminate the mold and mildew.

So if you can, we’ve got what she is chucking bicarb and vinegar, and it helped the cleaning process of your washing machine after every wash. It’s essential to give the actual washer door and  the window a good clean and scrub down as well.

You can use vinegar spray with water, or even your glass spray would do. Make sure you clean the bottom of the window so the pool of water is most likely to sit and that’s what a lot of the dirt will be after all that.

Step 7 – Take Out The Panel

If your washing machine is still not smelling great, then take off the panel at the bottom of your washing machine and put it like a tray underneath. There’s going to be a little like a little box where you twist the lid off, and then all the dirt and gunk will come out, and then you just let it collapse it in the tray and just clear it away.

But always make sure there’s like a flat tray to catch the water and all the dirt  I still do after I’ve washed like Camille’s trainers or it’s been out in the forest all those muddy clothes.

Because obviously, I know you look at mud and dirt, a big trap after a load, and it’s all dry chucking some bicarb soda into the drum that will neutralize its smell even more there.
