Checklist Before Buying a Best Dishwasher in India!!
The dishwasher is not so common in India so many people don’t have much knowledge about it. well, it is very difficult to find the best dishwasher in India in 2021. if you don’t have much knowledge about it therefore we have come up with 5 important parameters which you should keep in mind while buying a dishwasher. There are various brands for dishwashers in India like Bosch, IFB, Faber, LG, Seimen, Finish, Amazon Basics, and many more. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Therefore we have also published a dedicated buyers guide for a dishwasher along with some selected and most rated dishwashers in India available in 2021.
so you’ve decided to buy a dishwasher great do you know you should keep certain things ready or be aware of before the dishwasher arrives. come on let’s find out what these are?
The first thing required is the space for the dishwasher whether it is on a balcony or a kitchen or the utility room you have to make sure that is enough space for the dishwasher and enough space for a person to stand and open the door comfortably. the size of most dishwashers is the same as any normal front load washing machine. remember a dishwasher door opens vertically so you need roughly two and a half dishwasher depths of space. so one depth for the dishwasher one dip for the door open door and the remaining space which is a minimum half depth for the person standing in front of the dishwasher. so for me, it is just comfortable for me to stand and operate here if this is not clear you can earmark a space of 70-centimeter width centimeter and depth and 90-centimeter height. this includes the gap between the sides and the rear and space for the person standing in the front.
The second thing required is the power supply. so a 15 amp three-pin power socket and switch with proper everything is needed for the dishwasher. it is good to have a fuse or MCB in the line so that the dishwasher is protected. dishwasher does not need a voltage stabilizer but if you feel you have a lot of fluctuations in your area then you could connect a voltage to the laser of a repeated brand of a minimum three Star rating.
The third important thing is water supply and a dishwasher requires a running water supply. so this is the water inlet pipe of the dishwasher most dishwashers have a water inlet pipe with a 3 to 4 inch BSP connection. this is 3 4 inch and BSP is a British standard pipe which is an international standard for screw threads in India. the water connections are normally half inch BSP threaded type bangle wall like this connection here is commonly used for connecting washbasins water heaters flush tanks etc. this will work for a dishwasher but half to 3 4 inch adapter is needed like this. so if this is not provided by the company during installation you may need to arrange this from a plumbing or a sanitary wear shop. so half-inch to half an inch and this is the 3 to 4th inch which will be fitted to the inlet pipe. so this is how it is fitted it is difficult to provide a connection to your dishwasher from a normal tab like this unless the tap is threaded at the end.
So after water supply, the next important thing is the drain pipe connection. if the dishwasher drain hose is to be connected to a drain outlet on the floor it is recommended to have the drain pipe rise above the floor like the arrangement shown here.
So this is the drain hose and this is how we have it. if the drain hose is to be connected to the sink outlet the arrangement shown in this sketch is recommended provide a u-bend below the sink and connect the dishwasher drain before the u-bend. In both cases, the high-rise loop is to be maintained on the drain hose so that there is no reverse flow or odor.
Last but not least is very important to know the water hardness even before you decide to go for a dishwasher because cleaning quality much depends on the water hardness. I have discussed in detail water hardness in a separate post you can click the link above to view it. dishwashers can handle water up to a certain level of hardness and if your water hardness is higher than this you have to rethink about buying a dishwasher unless of course you connect soft water or fix a water softener.
Well, then how do you measure water hardness? the best method would be to give a sample of water to a lab and get it tested which will give you a perfect water hardness reading. testing TDS using an arteries meter is a commonly used and viable alternative but this is not an accurate measure for the water hardness in all cases.
